  6. Port of htp, an HTML pre-processor originally by Jim Nelson.

  8. It is designed to be a flexible authoring tool that can easily be
  9. integrated into the design process.
  10.  
  11. htp works by processing special HTML files and producing as output
  12. regular HTML files ready to be served up.
  13. The original HTML files are "special" because they (possibly) contain
  14. certain markup tags only recognizable to htp.  These tags are formed very
  15. similarly to standard HTML tags.  This allows for an easy learning
  16. curve and the ability to use visual HTML editors to build htp files.
